Sold wholesale and retail at his Bookstore, No 2, Cornhill., [between 1815 to 1826]. 16mo, (3¾ by 2½ inches), [64] pp., first and last leaves are pasted down, as issued, to original leather backed wooden boards. Slate-gray blue paper totally absent, removed. Still, a nice copy in original unsophisticated state. Early if not contemporary ownership of Oliver K. Wright vertically written along gutter of title-page.
AAS attributes the date range of 1815 to 1826 based on publisher James Loring’s known addresses and partnerships. Rosenbach notes: “This edition contains many of the features found in the early editions, with few additions.” Illustrated with numerous crude and charming cuts.
