A single sheet folded to form a quarto, printed circular, [3] pp. Watermarked and countermarked on wove paper per Gravel 2002 ed., fig. 35-36, ca. 1818. Formerly folded with stab holes and presumably previously bound up, perhaps in a pamphlet or sammelbund. A few short splits at folds, very good.
An early 19th century printed circular that reprints the 1794 address of the Rev. Jeremy Belknap to the American “Gentlemen of Science” describing the mission of the Massachusetts History Society and its expansive collecting agenda of America’s civil and ecclesiastical history.
