About Ian Brabner, Bookseller...

I specialize in
18th and 19th century Americana:
  • Rare Books: Books published circa 1700 to 1850. Also, unusual pamphlets and booklets.
  • Manuscripts: Diaries, journals, ledgers, business archives, autograph letters, circa 1700 to 1900.
  • Ephemera: Broadsides, handbills, flyers, and circulars, hand-made albums and curiosities, pre-1900.

I established my business as a full-time bookseller in 1995. I am a member of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association of America and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers, i.e. the A.B.A.A. & I.L.A.B.  As a member of these professional trade organizations, I abide by their binding code of ethics.

I am also a member of The Manuscript Society and a lifetime member of The Ephemera Society.

I actively build rare book and manuscript collections for a wide spectrum of customers to fulfill their collecting interests and needs. I welcome prospective individuals or institutions who wish to engage my services. I am based in Wilmington, Delaware.

In addition to my online inventory, I issue printed catalogues.
These catalogues highlight 100 or so items of the most interesting recent acquisitions. I also send out occasional e-lists.

I maintain memberships with and support the Philobiblon Club of Philadelphia, the Delaware Bibliophiles, and similar organizations.

I exhibit regularly at antiquarian book fairs, such as:

(New York Antiquarian Book Fair - April, 2011)
